Some years ago, Amazon announced that Amazon Advertising<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (formerly known as Amazon Marketing Services<\/a> (AMS)) was launching to some selected Merch by Amazon accounts! <\/p>

They gradually started rolling this out to the broader Merch community, but if you see a unique code on the bottom \u201cAdvertise your Merch\u201d<\/em> module of your Merch dashboard, Wohoo! your account is now eligible to register for an Amazon Advertising account. <\/p>

And what’s so cool about this? The benefit of this is that you can begin driving traffic to your Merch products through Stores, Sponsored Products<\/a>, and Sponsored Brands<\/a> (formerly called as Headline Search Ads).<\/p>

First things first, you might<\/a> wonder how do I get this amazing code? Well, you wait patiently. Amazon will notify Content Creators via email when eligible or you can check your dashboard regularly. This is done on a rolling basis. <\/p>

Moving forward, in order to ensure the vendor has access to sponsored ads<\/a><\/em> he\/she will need to request a separate Amazon Advertising account for their Merch products. This new account is intended to advertise Merch by Amazon products<\/a> only. <\/p>

NOTE<\/strong>: Advertising KDP<\/a> or other products with your Merch advertising account is not permitted and can result in account termination. There are different instructions to follow for KDP accounts. Click here<\/a> to know more about the same. <\/p>

Without further ado, let’s get started<\/a> with an ultimate guide to set up your Amazon Advertising Account\u2026<\/p>

Amazon Advertising Registration Instructions<\/h1>
  1. Get your unique code: <\/strong>When you receive an email update, <\/strong>go <\/strong>on your Merch dashboard, navigate & copy your unique code (will look like this: MERCH-XXXXX).<\/li><\/ol>

    1. Go to Amazon Advertising<\/strong>: Navigate to the Sponsored Ads<\/a> homepage on Amazon Advertising Click here<\/a> to get started. <\/li><\/ol>

      1. Request invitation: <\/strong>Select \u201cI am a vendor agent\u201d, don\u2019t bother for other options as you are setting an Ad account for your merch & click the \u201cNext\u201d button.<\/li><\/ol>

        1. Sign in to Amazon<\/strong> : Sign in with your Amazon account information to begin the application request process.<\/li><\/ol>

          You might raise a doubt here, if the seller has different brands, does that person need to complete a separate registration request for each one of his\/her Merch brands? <\/p>

          The Answer by Amazon: \u201cNo. Please only submit one request per code as duplicate requests will be rejected. Once approved, you can use one overall Amazon Advertising account and add any sub-brands under this main account.\u201d<\/p>

          1. Complete the Request Form<\/strong>: Enter your account details exactly as they appear in your Merch portal under \u201cMy Account\u201d.<\/li><\/ol>

            Do keep in mind<\/a> that Company and Brand details should be the same and match the exact Business name listed in \u201cMy Account\u201d. Or If you don\u2019t have an established Brand<\/a> name, one can use their full name. Paste the unique code with the \u201cMERCH-\u201d suffix. <\/p>

            Once you accept the terms and conditions, click the \u201cRequest Access\u201d button to submit your request. You will<\/a> then see a confirmation that your request has been received.<\/p>

            IMP<\/strong>: This code is required for account approval, and submissions without this code have a higher chance of being rejected.<\/p>

            Voila, these were some basic steps to follow and send a request for your Amazon advertising account. Now, some cases can occur when you won\u2019t be able to see Sponsored Products as an advertising option, only Sponsored Brands.<\/p>

            Don\u2019t panic! As they might take a few days to appear as an option in your dashboard as the sponsored ads team is enabling these for the Merch community. If you don’t see this as an advertising option within a week after submitting your registration request, one can kindly reach out to the Amazon Advertising team<\/a> for 1:1 support and provide the unique code from your Dashboard with the exact details from your Merch account. <\/p>

            Verification Process<\/h1>
            1. Verify the Email Address<\/strong> : As soon as the request has been submitted, you will receive 2 emails<\/em> to the same email address you just provided in the before steps, which you will need<\/a> to open and click the link to verify the registered email. It is essential to execute this, or your account won\u2019t be activated. <\/li><\/ol>
